Through Alice King, Blanca was able to debut in her first voiceover role in Grace Under Pressure. This incredible experience would have never been possible without the encouragement and belief of Alice. Blanca is eternally grateful to have met such a fantastic performer and soul. She would like to thank all her family and friends for their support! Alice King (AEA, SAG-AFTRA)(Grace McMoon)
As a military brat in a large family, Alice found her home in theater wherever she went. Accepted by Juilliard but unable to attend, Alice auditioned and was accepted into the 1977-78 Acting Apprentice Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville. There she honed her craft in many ways (as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and a musical version of Titus Andronicus starring Joe Morton) and met many of the people who figured in her life from then on. Moving to New York, she pursued an acting career, becoming a devoted student of Uta Hagen and a staunch member of Circle Rep, the Lion Theatre Company, EST 52nd Street Project, Polaris North, the Open Book Theatre, (proving adept at the genre of Readers’ Theater) and most recently, the New Circle Theater Company.
Her dedication to new works and new writers made her an invaluable part of their creative process. In 2004, she appeared in RECONSTRUCTION at the New International Fringe Festival and reprised her role in that play the next year at the Open Book. She returned to Louisville in 2018 take up a starring role in Boatwright, by Patrick Tovatt, at the Bunbury Theater, where she garnered lavish raves for her work. In the glowing, premature sunset of her career, she showed her stuff in stage, radio, and the new art form of streaming theater. There was nothing she couldn’t do, and no one who worked with her who didn’t love her.

Emily King (AEA, UFT, BMI)(Author, Singer/Songwriter)
Emily King is an author, translator, editor, actor, director, playwright, lyricist, and civil celebrant, now retired from her health-insured job as a NYC school secretary to return to her theatrical works of decades past. In developing PasticheNYC, she created new ways to recruit first rate performers and great music – and the infinitude of visuals and sound available in new technology – to bring new life to Jane Austen’s Persuasion, Edith Wharton’s House of Mirth, and now her own original musical radio series, Grace Under Pressure, in an age of uncertainty, isolation, and hunger for beauty.
Atticus Mulkey(Recording Engineer)
Atticus Mulkey (he/him) is a producer, audio engineer, technician and artist. He holds an M.A. in Live Experience and Design from BerkleeNYC, and a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from The Peabody Institute. He is currently on tour with Porter Robinson as an assistant playback engineer and serves as the Post-Master’s Fellow for Live Experience Design at BerkleeNYC.
Author’s Note:Grace under Pressure began as an Off-Off Broadway project in 1992, originally staged as an 8-part radio play complete with manic sound man, theme song and additional musical interludes played and sung by myself. The part of Grace was written for Alice King and, thirty years later, it became clear that it was time to make it permanent. Now no one else ever needs to play her, as podcasts will last as long as there is WiFi. And Alice will live forever in our hearts.
